FAQ
How do you create a Safelist?
B.)
Creating a company master safelist.
To create a company master safelist that can be used on all of the imaged
computers, merge the different safelists into a master safelist for
distribution.
STEP 1:
To merge the safelists first install Scrubit on the new computers or newly
imaged computers: Then starting with one computer, add all the items to the
safelist (see- "Creating a safelist on
a new computer"). Next go to the Scrubit folder and search for "*.SWL"
file. This is the safelist file. Copy the file to the network or to a USB key.
STEP 2:
Move to the next computer model and copy the "*.SWL" file over the top of the
"*.SWL" file in the Scrubit folder. Launch Scrubit repeat the previous
directions to add all the items to the safelist. This will add all of the
processes unique to the 2nd computer to the safelist of the 1st computer. Now
this safelist will work on both models.
STEP 3:
Repeat the previous steps on any remaining computers unique to your
environment. After you have collected all of the processes to the safelist you
will have a company master safelist. Distribute this master safelist file to
protect all hardware services and company processes on the computers on your
network from being Scrub'd. This method allows your company’s IT department to
eliminate the user from having to setup a safelist.
CAUTION: Try to eliminate any exposure to the internet
before clicking items as safe when setting up the Safelist on a new computer.
