FAQ
D.) Creating a
safelist on an infected computer. - METHOD 2:
STEP 1:
Launch Scrubit, click on "Start" and allow Scrubit to identify all the
discovered badware processes. The items listed at the end of testing act like
badware. Some of these items may be legitimate items others are not.
STEP 2:
Select each item in the list and click on "Omit" this will put the items into
a list for later verification. Repeat until all items are gone. Click on
"Cancel" and the computer will restart without cleaning off any badware or
legitimate process.

STEP 3:
After the computer restarts launch Scrubit. Click on the "Options" menu. Click
on "Restore Original Runs" (this restores your original startup programs).
STEP 4:
Click on the "Setup" button. On the "Setup a Safelist" page click on the "Add"
button
(see- "Creating
a safelist on a new computer").

STEP 5:
On the "Add to Safelist" page select an item in the list box and click
"Verify" this will launch web check. Web check launches a search engine with
results of the item selected from the list box. Read through the description
presented by the links. Many times it will be apparent the item is either safe
or unsafe. If you must click on a link for further study, make sure you click
on more than one in order to determine the pattern of the majority of the
links. The pattern will show the item as safe, unsafe or unknown.
STEP 6:
If an item is safe click on "Safe" and this will add the item to the safelist.
This safelisted item will now be protected from being quarantined by Scrubit.

STEP 7:
If an item is unsafe or unknown, leave the item in the list and select the
next item to be verified and repeat the process until all items are verified.
STEP 8:
When all the items are verified click on "Back" to return to the "Setup a
Safelist" page. Click on "Done" to exit the "Setup a Safelist" page and close
Scrubit. Your safelist is setup and you can run Scrubit to clean up your
computer in the future without false positives.
NOTE:
If a mistake was made setting up the safelist you can correct your mistake.
Simply click on "Review" from the "Setup a Safelist" page and this will let
you see your safelist. From the "Review Safelist" page you can remove unsafe
items. Now these unsafe items will be discovered and cleaned when you run
Scrubit.
