FAQ

How many times do I have to run Scrubit to get the "No Badware Found" message?

It depends on the complexity of the Badware. Some mutating (polymorphic) forms of Badware with multiple hand offs require several runs. Each badware partner gets discovered in turn and cleaned until all partners and variations are discovered and removed.

Each run of Scrubit ends with either a "Cleanup Completed" page or a "No Badware Found" page.  To assure all mutating forms of badware are removed Scrubit should be run until you get the "No Badware Found" message page.

When Scrubit is used in conjunction with Repelit's real-time monitoring, fewer steps are required. Scrubit will force badware to escape initial detection by mutating and when the badware mutates Repelit’s complimentary design will immediately discover any changes and remove the badware before it gets a chance to rebuild and start. The result is most virulent infections can be cleaned in two steps as opposed to 3 or 4.

Subscription based systems seem to clean your system the first time, then rediscover the same infection over and over and fail to permanently remove the badware. It is because the known badware has an unknown partner process that rebuilds it. The partner process is a randomly named process, different on every computer and sometimes different with every logon (polymorphic). Subscription based systems cannot clean this type of badware – Scrubit can.
