FAQ
Should I use a definition-based scanner to clean off the
remaining traces of badware?
Yes. Scanners do a good job at this. They are designed to identify
Malware and their pieces and clean them off.
They cannot remove a mutating (polymorphic)
partner that can rebuild the badware. Leave that to Scrubit to handle those
security problems. Although it is not critical to remove the broken remnants,
it does help with system house cleaning.
Please remember if
you wish to use a scanner, the preferred approach is to run Scrubit first
until you get the message "No Badware found", then run a scanner for final
housecleaning of the remaining traces of non active badware files, registry
entries and cookies. Note if Scrubit cleans badware, by default, it inoculates
against reinfection of the same process (if the inoculate option is
checked).
