What is the "Restore Runs" option in Scrubit?
Under the menu
options in Scrubit is an option labeled "Restore Runs." This option will
return auto running processes written to the registry from a previous Scrubit
cleaning. This allows you to remove annoying startup programs that you would
prefer to launch as needed. This option is also used to stop auto-running
badware that follows the rules of good behavior in order to bypass discovery
by behavior-based security products.
Restore Runs gives you a choice of 5 "Undo" backups. If you are missing
something you want to auto-start at logon, click this menu option and choose
an "Undo" number. It will immediately return all the running components from
the Undo groups you chose. After a restart you should have the auto-starting
components restored. The program you wish to auto-start should now be working.
If it does not launch choose a different Undo number and restart your computer
until the expected program is returned.
This mode should not be used without first creating a safelist.
